Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club want to keep Bernardo Silva and believe they will.
Silva has three years left on his contract but has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad this summer.
Barcelona have been linked with a move for Silva, with reports claiming the midfielder may want a new challenge this summer.
Silva has been a huge success at the Etihad Stadium, but it seems he would remain at the Etihad Stadium next season, even if he was open to a move, because he’s too valuable to let go.
Guardiola admitted exactly that with his comments on the transfer saga. He said via The Times: “I think he will be with us (next season). I don’t want to have players who don’t want to be with us (but) Bernardo Silva is a very important player for us.”
According to the latest from Pol Ballús of The Athletic, Manchester City want to keep Bernardo Silva and believe they will as there is no sense that he is about to force a move to Barcelona.
The report states that after informal discussions around February with Bernardo Silva’s agent and family, it was agreed the best scenario would be to stick with his current Man City contract, which runs until the summer of 2025.
All the feedback Man City got from Bernardo Silva’s family was incredibly positive, highlighting how the player was enjoying his game and life in Manchester again. Style-wise, all parties were certain that Man City are the perfect match for Bernardo Silva.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
