Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays an update on the club’s transfer target Rafael Leao.
The 22-year-old AC Milan winger is having an excellent season with 12 goals and 7 assists across all competitions, and rumours are circulating about interest from abroad.
There are several top-tier clubs who are keeping an eye on Leao’s development given his explosion in his third season for the Rossoneri.
Rafael Leao’s contract renewal negotiations with Milan have taken a concerning turn at the behest of Jorge Mendes.
According to Calciomercato as relayed by Sport Witness, Agent Jorge Mendes has warned AC Milan officials, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, of an offer coming from England for Rafael Leão.
The two parties are said to have been in ‘constant contact’ to reach an agreement over the player’s new deal for the last few months.
Calciomercato believe Manchester City ‘could be that team in question’, considering they have shown interest and Guardiola is a fan of Leão.
As it stands, the Italian club have not put up their player for sale. However, Milan could change their stance and start listening to offers, if they are in excess of €70m.
It is believed the Citizens manager, Pep Guardiola, is a long-time admirer of the forward. His versatility could be useful for Guardiola, as he can operate all across the front line.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from Manchester City supporters.
