Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays an update by Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano on the future of Raheem Sterling at the Etihad.
Having joined City in 2015, Sterling has been a major part of their success over the last seven years, racking up over 320 appearances.
The 27-year-old’s form has stuttered over the past year but he appears now to be a key part of Pep Guardiola’s plans, as things stand.
Despite not always being a regular this season in Guardiola’s XI, Sterling’s excellent display recently shows just how ruthless the England man can be on his day.
Sterling, who had been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, has less than 15 months remaining on his £300,000 per week contract, and there has been little progress in negotiating fresh terms.
The Times reported on Saturday that Contract talks between Manchester City and Raheem Sterling were set for the end of the season.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Pep Guardiola has given the green light to a possible Man City contract extension for Raheem Sterling.
Fabrizio Romano states that Guardiola is not involved but he’d love to keep the England international. Talks will continue and City will want final decision soon as current deal expires in 2023.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

Sterling contract expires in 2023, the same time than Pep, why would he want to have him for more time if he’s not signing the renewal? Pep renewal, •A MATTER OF TIME•
