Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Barcelona are reportedly regretting not heeding Pep Guardiola ‘s warning over a deal to sign Eric Garcia.
Garcia linked up with the Catalan giants on a free transfer this summer after seeing out his deal at the Etihad.
The 20-year-old graduated from Barca’s La Masia academy before electing to make the switch to England with City back in 2017.
But the Spanish international has endured a rotten start to life back in Spain after linking up with Ronald Koeman ‘s side.
He capped a dismal display in Barca’s 3-0 defeat to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night with a red card after being booked twice.
Catalan outlet El Nacional (via Sport Witness) now provide a report on the player’s struggles and the input from Guardiola.
They write that Guardiola was ‘sincere’ before Eric Garcia made the move from Man City to Barcelona, and ‘warned’ the La Liga club of the player’s ‘little experience’ and the dangers that would bring if he was given a starting role immediately.
But Koeman opted not to listen to his managerial counterpart. The Dutchman thought that Garcia could learn on the job alongside the reliable Gerard Pique.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
