Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is keeping tabs on Salzburg’s striker Benjamin Sesko.
The Slovenia international has attracted the attention of several top European clubs since gaining promotion to the first team this summer.
The 6-foot-4 striker became the youngest player ever to debut for Slovenia against North Macedonia back on 1 June and has scored six goals in 14 games in all competitions this season.
Europe’s top clubs already consider him one of the most attractive young pearls on the continent and he is unlikely to stay at Salzburg beyond next summer.
According to Bild as relay by AS, Man City are among some of Europe’s top clubs keeping a close eye on RB Salzburg’s 18-year-old youngster, who has been compared with Erling Haaland.
Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern are also monitoring the player who is under contract with the Austrian club until June 2026.
Manchester City shortcomings in the number nine department is well-documented, notably missing out on the summer pursuit of Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The premier league champions have been linked with the likes of Erling Haaland, Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic , as well as PSG forward Kylian Mbappe, as they look for a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Sesko comparisons with Erling Haaland have been inevitable. Not only because of his height, but because he is a very mobile, skilful footballer with a great ability to get past defenders thanks to his long stride.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Chief, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
