Manchester City are reportedly weighing up the possibility of snapping up Barcelona misfit Philippe Coutinho in a €30 million (£25.4m) deal.
The Brazilian has struggled to make his mark at Barcelona since joining from Liverpool in January 2018 and has only started three La Liga games so far this season.
With the Catalan outfit still facing financial problems, they may look to sell Coutinho in the January transfer window. The 29-year-old has been short of form and playing time at Barcelona and could be open to a move away.
Man City have Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Ferran Torres at their disposal, but a report by Catalan outlet say Pep Guardiola is after the former Liverpool forward.
According to El Nacional, Philippe Coutinho has popped up on the radar of Manchester City over a move in the January transfer window.
The report claims that Barça at the moment would transfer him without thinking for 30 million euros (£25.4m), a very low figure with the prices being paid in the Premier League by any average.
In a team full of midfielder with quality, the arrival of Coutinho as per the report would fit like a glove, with Guardiola convinced he can recover the best version of the Brazilian.
Coutinho joined the Catalans from Liverpool in January 2018 and has gone on to make 96 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals with 14 assists.
The Brazilian international has netted only two league goals since February 2019, however, so it’s easy to see why he’s not playing regularly under Ronald Koeman.
