Bernardo Silva was on target as Manchester City beat Burnley 2-0 at The Etihad Stadium to remain within touching distance of the top of the Premier League.
The Portuguese star has turned his City career around within the last few months.
In City’s last few outings, he seems to have found his best form and is quickly becoming a crucial player Guardiola once more, starting the last nine Premier League and Champions League matches.
When he’s at his best, Silva is simply a joy to watch and it seems remarkable that there were rumours of City being willing to offload him in the summer.
Silva opened the scoring in the 12th minute, tapping in after Burnley keeper Nick Pope had pushed out a low drive from Phil Foden.
He could have even bagged a late second goal but his tired legs failed to get in the right order to finish off another incisive City move.
After he opened the scoring this afternoon, Man City fans were all over Twitter praising Bernardo Silva. Here’s what some of them had to say on Twitter…
A man in form. 😍💙 pic.twitter.com/D5vJXxlrzF

Rodri has been solid
Cancelo wonderful going forward
Steffen amazing save
The rest need to fix up
Bernardo Silva and Laporte wanted to move on last season and now they are among the best City players this season.

How quickly things change in football.
Playing left footed players in the right position always helps.
De Bruyne sealed the three points with an unerring effort in the 70th minute, when Ashley Westwood failed to clear for Burnley and the ball fell to De Bruyne who smashed home with his left foot.
The Portuguese mildfielder has scored more goals against Burnley (4) than against any other English side across all competitions.
Pep Guardiola’s side are on 17 points from eight games, in second place, with Liverpool top on 18 points. Chelsea could return to the top of the table if they win at Brentford later on Saturday.
