Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Robert Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi views the club as a ‘possible buyer’ for the Bayern Munich striker in 2022.
The Cityzens are on the hunt for a new striker after the summer exit of Sergio Aguero. They haven’t had much success in the market, though, notably missing out on players like Harry Kane, Lionel Messi and even Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
There had been rumours towards the end of this summer transfer window that Lewandowski was ready to take on a new challenge.
The 33-year-old’s deal at the Allianz Arena is up in 2023 and there’s a possibility he could leave as he’s in the eve of his career with rumours linking Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland with the Bavarian club.
The premier league champions have been tipped as a possible destination for the Bayern Munich goal-machine.
According to Bild (h/t Sport Witness), Lewandowski’s agent has ‘keeps all options open’, including Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, who can be potential suitors next summer.
Lewandowski would improve City’s attack, but he wouldn’t be a long-term option to replacing Sergio Aguero as they’re the same age.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester City invests in an ageing striker like Lewandowski next summer, especially given the fact that the much younger Erling Haaland is likely to be available.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

More chances of getting him than Haaland tbf. Haaland will then go to Bayern/PSG/Real

Get him if we can’t get Haaland
