A number of Manchester City fans reacted excitedly to the news that Liam Delap was spotted taking part in first team training ahead of their Champions League tie this week.
Delap, who scored on his senior debut for the club last season aged just 17, suffered a problem at the beginning of pre-season that kept him out for six weeks.
The Manchester City striker made his return to action – and a return to the scoresheet – in the Premier League 2 victory over Crystal Palace in mid-September, but took a knock to the same ankle a week later in a league game with Arsenal that sidelined him again.
The 18-year-old striker, who has featured on just three occasions so far this season, was spotted taking part in first-team training ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League Group Stage match against Club Brugge on Tuesday.
Manchester City posted images from their training ground this morning on their official website which showed Delap among the first team ahead of the Brugge game.
It is currently unknown whether Delap will feature in the squad for either of tomorrow’s matches, though the 18-year-old return to training is a promising sign for the club.
In reaction to the news shared by renowned Twitter channel @City_Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions, with many thrilled to hear of the youngster’s involvement in first team training.
