Manchester City are set to begin their 2021/22 Champions League adventure on Wednesday, facing off with German outfit RB Leipzig at the Etihad.
They will be looking to bounce back from heartbreak in the final last time out, where they were defeated 1-0 by Chelsea at the final hurdle.
Ahead of the game, Pep Guardiola‘s side have been dealt something of a double blow, with two key stars missing from training.
Aymeric Laporte has had a great start to the season and has formed a solid partnership with Ruben Dias at the heart of the Sky Blues’ backline this term, much like John Stones did during 2020/21.
However, as per Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News, both Stones and Laporte were not fit enough to take part in Man City training on Tuesday and are doubts for the Leipzig game:
‘John Stones and Aymeric Laporte weren’t fit enough to take part in #mcfc training session today and are doubtful for the RB Leipzig match tomorrow. Dias and Ake did train‘
In reaction to the news shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
