A selection of Manchester City fans on Twitter have expressed their delight after learning that Gabriel Jesus was voted the club’s Player of the Month for August.
The 24-year-old is one of the senior players who has been linked with a move away from City during this transfer window, with the pursuit of Harry Kane casting further doubt upon his future.
The Brazilian forward started the new campaign in scintillating form and was outstanding against Norwich and Arsenal.
The feat is all the more impressive as he was playing in an unaccustomed role of right winger, which he has excelled in during our last three games.
Jesus polled more than two thirds of the 20,000-plus vote, beating team-mates Aymeric Laporte and Ferran Torres to the coveted monthly award.
Here is what the Manchester City fan base have been saying regarding the Brazilian’s latest honours.
Keep it up Gabby lad 👏
