Manchester City will check on Ilkay Gundogan’s shoulder injury on Monday morning.
The German midfielder left the pitch after his side’s 1-0 Premier League defeat at Tottenham with strapping on following a late collision.
Pep Guardiola speaking during his post-match media duties was inevitably asked for an update on the wellbeing of his midfield star.
The Manchester City boss confirmed after the game that the Germany international would be checked by the club’s doctors on Monday.
‘It was something in his shoulder,’ Guardiola said. ‘We will see what happens tomorrow (Monday) with the doctor. It looks like something happened.’
Man City fans are now worried about how his injury could impact their chances of retaining the premier league, considering the timing and difficult opening run of games.
Here’s what some fans have had to say on social media.
So he’ll be fit next game then. KDB is still supposed to be on the treatment table.
