Manchester City fans have reacted on Twitter to the claims the club is already facing up to the prospect of playing a full season with Gabriel Jesus as the only recognized senior striker as Harry Kane speculation continues to dominate the Premier League.
Kane has been the subject of intense transfer interest from City this summer and are believed to have made a £100million offer, while also offering a player as part of the deal.
City have just over two weeks to complete the deal before the transfer window shuts on Aug. 31, and there are plans to test Spurs’ resolve to keep the England captain.
According to Rob Dawson via ESPN, Man City officials still believe they can sign Harry Kane this summer, but Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff are not as confident and are already facing up to the prospect of playing a full season with Gabriel Jesus as the only recognised senior striker.
The report claims there is a growing feeling at the Etihad that the saga will not be resolved either way until deadline day.
The defending premier league champions are keen for Tottenham to make progress in the transfer market this week in the hope it might soften the blow of potentially losing Kane.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Gabriel Jesus being back up striker for a club without a striker 🥴

I’m not even joking but if we sign no striker we’re literally just fighting for top 4

Jesus won't get us 20+ goals in the league. That's what we need. Aguero frightened the opposition as soon as they saw his name on the sheet! Jesus? nah. We are not feared enough if we haven't got a 20+ goal scorer as a striker.
