Former Spurs and Manchester City midfielder, Michael Brown, believes that there is a ‘deal imminent’ for Harry Kane to move away from north London.
The England skipper’s future has been up in the air all summer. Daniel Levy has so far refused to sell, while Man City are thought to only be prepared to go to around the £130m mark. Levy, of course, wants over £150m even to engage.
City have not given up on Harry Kane and will continue to push Tottenham Hotspur to sell their prized asset before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Kane didn’t travel with the Tottenham squad last night as they lost 1-0 to Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League.
And Brown, speaking on Sky Sports last night, believes Kane to City will happen and believes something could be in the offing.
“He’s not travelled again. So ultimately, is there a deal on the table? I’d have expected him to travel with the squad and get at least a few minutes. But he hasn’t and that tells me that there’s a deal imminent,” Brown said.
“Everyone needs to resolve this. It’s been a long drama now. I got on with Daniel Levy well when I’ve worked with him. He drives a hard bargain but he’s got his football club as his concern. The player wants to go. We want to all see Harry Kane and wish him well. And I’m sure if the deal does go through, Spurs fans will wish him that as well.”
Kane started the whole ball rolling over his future when he told Gary Neville that he was considering his future. Since then, he’s returned to training late, and wasn’t picked in the Premier League opener against City last weekend.
