Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Aymeric Laporte is putting pressure on the club hierarchy to let him leave the Etihad Stadium for Barcelona.
Laporte was City’s best defender during their title-winning campaign two years ago, but a serious knee problem saw him miss the majority of last season, whilst the arrival or Ruben Dias from Benfica last summer saw the Frenchman lose his place in the team.
Barcelona have already signed Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia from City this summer via free transfers and Laporte could become the third player to join the La Liga Club in this summer’s transfer window.
According to sport, Aymeric Laporte wants to change City for Barça and is putting pressure on the English club to be able to land at the Camp Nou this summer.
The report says Laporte now wants to move to Spain with Barcelona, believing the La Liga titans’ lack of centre-back options has opened a door to a potential arrival.
The centre-back is an appealing option for the La Liga giants based on his experience in the division as well as his newly acquired Spanish citizenship.
Should City move Laporte on this summer, it would leave Nathan Ake as the only back up to regular pairing Dias and John Stones.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, Many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
if this is true let him leave. i don’t want a player that doesn’t want to be at the club

Let him go then

As great as Aymeric is, I’d rather have players like Zinchenko who want to fight for their place rather than someone who wants out the second he has any competition

Really disappointed in his attitude. Stones last summer was on the verge of being sold. Fast forward a year and he was vital in us winning the league and getting to the champions league final and earned himself a place in the pfa toty. Expected better from laporte icl

Really disappointed in Aymeric. He is world class and I want him to stay but if he can’t be asked to challenge for a place in the starting 11 and if he wants to be lazy, he can leave. Good luck to him in Barca if this move goes through.

if he doesn’t have the fight and passion for the club to get his spot back then sell him 👍🏼

hes got a long contract so if hes gonna go they better pay up

ain’t gonna happen surely. Barca aren’t and can’t pay 65+ million and if city have brain cells they aren’t going to accept player swaps
