Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is open to signing a replacement for Benjamin Mendy.
The Frenchman is one of the Manchester City players that are being linked with summer transfer exits, including Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling.
Man City haven’t signed a left back since we paid £50 million to Monaco for Benjamin Mendy in 2017, who has mostly been injured and inconsistent during his four years.
A number of injury problems have prevented him from ever establishing himself as a regular under Guardiola. The Frenchman struggled for game time this season over the impressive Joao Cancelo and rejuvenated Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The 26-year-old, who will see his deal at the Etihad expire in 2023, is now reportedly open to leave with the club ready to sell in this summer transfer window.
According to Sam Lee via The Athletic UK, Man City would be open to bringing in a replacement for Benjamin Mendy, but would not necessarily push the boat out for a player in the £50M-£60M bracket.
No clubs have been mentioned as of yet to be interested in the Frenchman, but City could cash in on Mendy and then bring in a replacement ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Plenty of City fans are keen to see Benjamin Mendy moved on after another inconsistent season with form and injury.
Here’s what some Man City fans had to say about the update on Mendy on Twitter…

Mendy was great until serious injuries, so feel for him but now is very much surplus
