Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims Nathan Ake is considering his future after just one season at the Etihad.
Ake signed for Man City from Bournemouth last summer, a move which will have been difficult to turn down especially with the Cherries having been relegated to the Championship.
Nathan Ake has had somewhat of a rough ride since he was injured back on boxing day in our 2-0 against Newcastle. Having only played 11 matches in total for Manchester City.
According to Voetbal International, Nathan Aké will ‘start to consider his options’ in the summer, knowing ‘it will be very difficult’ to get into the City starting XI because of the partnership at the back.
The report claims Aké knows he will only get a chance in the ‘absence of a rival’ and has addressed the fact he knows it would be difficult to break the centre-back pairing of John Stones and Ruben Dias and is aware he is behind Aymeric Laporte in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.
Voetbal explains that Aké was ‘very happy’ arriving at Man City, joining after a ‘personal conversation’ with Pep Guardiola. Knowing there was competition, Ake ‘entered in good spirits’. He ‘felt Guardiola’s confidence’ and knew his ability would be a good fit.
Ake had further believed he might be able to then fill in at left-back as he has played in the position in the past during his stint at Watford. However, the recent excellent form of both Joao Cancelo and Oleksander Zinchenko means Ake is also behind both of these in his alternate position.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, Many man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Before he came stones wasn’t the greatest and Garcia was leaving. It was ake otamendi and Laporte so he would’ve expected to start over otamendi

he probably expected to be ahead of stones / stones to be sold and be third choice

He has every right to want to leave. He came when stones was in a terrible place. Thinking he would be 3rd choice cb and 2/3rd choice lb. Now with stones's resurgence he can't see himself breaking through past stones, dias AND laporte. I would love him to stay at city though.

That's the relegation mentality coming back

Nah, Zinchencko had clubs after him and arsenal wanted stones. Media are just trying to cause unrest at city if Ake had been fit he would have played all the Carabao cup games alongside laporte as well as the FA cup games
