Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Benfica are ‘trying to sign’ Sergio Agüero, who is available on a free transfer this summer.
Despite being 32-years-old, there’s plenty of interest for the veteran forward including from Benfica, which is a surprise destination for the 32-year-old.
According to Record, Benfica are trying to sign Agüero and contacts with the player have already started as well as with Man City players close to him.
The report claims Benfica are ‘counting on’ City’s former Benfica contingent João Cancelo and Rúben Dias to try to convince the Argentinian to move to Portugal.
Cancelo came through the academy ranks at Benfica, while City paid a club-record £65million to prise Dias from Estadio da Luz last summer.
Benfica are understood to be preparing a three-year contract for Aguero worth €12million (£10.2m), which includes a signing-on bonus.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

I’d actually be pretty happy with that, no big issue with Benfica, and actually been really happy with our business with them!

Probably an April fools joke, Portuguese newspapers usually do those, BUUUUUUUT, hey, Seixal “gave” City a LOT of talent, wouldn’t hurt giving us a little something, eh 🙂

Would love him to go there but I still think he wants to play at the top level in a better league like La Liga or Serie A
