Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a claims by Angelino that Pep Guardiola never really gave him a proper chance during his time at the Etihad.
In 2018, Angelino was sold to PSV Eindhoven, only for Guardiola to buy him back a year later. Then, after failing to nail down a place in City first team under Pep Guardiola, he was shipped off to RB Leipzig on loan before the deal was made permanent earlier this month.
The fleet-footed Spanish left back has been in fine form for Leipzig with 8 goals and 11 assists from his 31 Bundesliga appearances so far this season.
Angelino says Guardiola didn’t trust him and judged him on only a couple of pre-season games.
“Pep has killed me and my self-confidence,” Angelino told German daily Bild.
“After my move from Eindhoven back to City, he had already judged me on two pre-season games and then didn’t give me a real chance again.
“So, I was happy that I was loaned out to Leipzig and now I am an integral part of the club.
“One [Nagelsmann] gave me confidence and allowed me to play but the other one [Guardiola] just didn’t.”
RB Leipzig have signed him on a permanent deal for a fee of €18m from Manchester City, which was triggered after he reached a pre-agreed number of appearances for the current season, which ended his long-standing affiliation with City.
In reaction to the report Angelino’s claim shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have have expressing their thoughts and opinions.

I would feel sorry for him but he’s so cocky now

Listen pal @angel_tasende69 Pep didn’t play you because you aren’t good enough for City, simple.

Its true and quite understandable. This guy has been loaned out from the start of his career. When he finally comes back, he doesn't fit into the pep's system. That is definitely going to break someone's confidence. He's a good player. Should have kept this info inside though.

He's just not a Pep type player

He's not feeling himself. You can't judge a young player with just 2 games against top sides… He has a point

Did you watch Mendy before we bought him, did you see him live at the Ethiad where he with Bernado ran absolute riot against us? that was the Mendy we signed he started very well for us and Injuries have finished him, not talent.

No denying his quality going forwards, but as a defender, he's the worst I've seen at City in a long time. Marking, positioning, timing – none of the basics were there, and they need to be in a back 4.

Mendy may be prone to the odd gaffe but he's 10x the defender. Ask Salah.
