Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen says Manchester City could win the quadruple this season after beating Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
City went 10 points clear at the top of the league with their 3-1 win over Everton. They have now won 17 straight games in all competitions and haven’t lost since a 2-0 defeat by Spurs in late November.
With City in the FA Cup quarter-finals, the EFL Cup final and the Champions League knockout stages, Michael Owen believes they could clean up.
‘They’re peaking at the right time,’ he said as quoted by Daily Mail.
‘If you think about it, they’ve virtually won the Premier League, they’re in the final of the League Cup [Carabao Cup], they’re still in the FA Cup – a couple of big-hitters have gone out of that – and who’s going to put the Champions League past them? It is conceivable that they could win all four this season.’
City visit the capital on Sunday as they make the trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal.
