Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann has reportedly offered himself to Manchester City as a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero.
The Citizens are expected to be in the market for a new striker at the end of the 2020-21 campaign, with the club’s all-time leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero potentially leaving on a free transfer.
According to Don Balon, Griezmann has sensed an opportunity and offered himself to City, but it seems that Pep Guardiola is not keen on a deal for the Frenchman.
The report claims that Griezmann tried contacting City about a move, Seeing that Leo Messi prefers to go to Paris Saint-Germain instead of the Premier League giants.
City had been one of the major European sides linked with Griezmann when he was at Atletico Madrid, prior to his move to Barcelona in July 2019.
The Frenchman has failed to live up to massive expectations at Barcelona after joining the Spanish giant in a huge, well publicised and controversial £108m deal.
But after a faltering start to life with the Blaugrana, he has steadily begun proving his worth. It is true that in recent weeks its performance has improved slightly, but that is not enough.
But his tremendous work-rate and quality have begun showing as the forward has notched five goals and four assists in his last eight games for Barcelona.
