Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the game as Manchester City defeated Southampton at St Mary’s in the Premier League.
The Citizens were made to work for all three points against a well-drilled host that pushed for an equaliser throughout the entire match.
Bernardo was excelent all through out the game. Making his first start in the league since the Tottenham game, he was full of energy to trouble the Southampton defence and rarely wasted possession. Played in at least three positions and excelled in them all.
But City fans were disappointed with the Portuguese when he couldn’t kill the game in the 52 minutes.
Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling linked up brilliantly down the left, before the former picked out Bernardo Silva on the far side of the box with a wonderful pass.
but Bernardo Silva messes up the final touch when he should get a shot away. Silva’s first touch was too heavy, though, and his shot was mishit and gathered down low by Alex McCarthy.

Why do we constantly feel the need to try and dribble thru the back of the net in lieu of shooting???????

That’s our problem and I don’t see how we fix this.

The most useless player in the team. Sell him please. 1 season wonders

I’m tired man he was literally on the penalty spot all he had to do is shot first time. Bloody useless

Bernardo Silva been class all game but everyone forgets it as soon as he misses one chance ffs

There is very little a Coach Can do to get his team to score more goals when Bernardo Silva did what he did trying to play the ball into the net only with his left foot but attempted the shot with his weaker right foot at the last moment and ended in a weak and poor attempt

@BernardoCSilva was immense today! Worked tirelessly all game. If Pep thinks we don’t need another striker in January, he’s deluded.
