Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that John Stones is determined to prove his worth to Pep Guardiola and stay at the Etihad despite uncertainty over his future.
Much was expected of the Englishman when he arrived at the Etihad Stadium, but the defender failed to take his game to the next level under Guardiola.
Pep Guardiola has preferred holding midfielder Fernandinho at centre-half at times which is an ominous sign for the former Everton defender.
More so, City’s signing of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth, has led to growing speculation that Stones could leave this summer, but it appears the 26-year-old has no intention of leaving the Etihad anytime soon.
According to The Telegraph, Stones is prepared to stay at the Etihad this season to fight for his future and a place in Pep Guardiola’s team, despite the new arrivals in his position and the pending arrival of €75 million-rated Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City chief, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

He will come back stronger 🙌🏻 one of my favorite defender. Just need improve his positioning and concentration 👍🏻— NoobMaster123 (@danspow) September 8, 2020
This guy can become the best in the league. Just needs to work a bit more. Mans got game. Needs to show up a bit more when needed. That’s it— Narzivial (@Narzivial) September 8, 2020
If Garcia and Otamendi go, he will technically be fourth choice if we buy Koulibaly. But I would rather give Tosin a chance— David Speers (@DavySpeers) September 8, 2020
Even if Nico and Garcia go. Adarabioyo > Stones— Harry – Fantastical Ferran (@HarryCooke891) September 8, 2020
Zinchenko said this sometime back when the team wanted to sell him. He became one of our best performing players the following season.Give him one last chance, who knows??

I don’t mind him staying, I just hope he can stay fit.— AL14 🇫🇷 (@TheDoor_14) September 8, 2020
What a waste, after 4 years and still no improvement, there’s no need to fight anymore, he just simply not good enough.— papite (@jgedeon1717) September 8, 2020
I’m a fan of stones but for his career he needs a loan or a move to a mid table Prem team, Burnley or Newcastle would be great for him. Not UCL nights atm— Man of City (@170million) September 8, 2020
