Manchester City have identified Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico and Bayern Munich’s David Alaba as a potential recruit at left-back in the remaining few days of the summer transfer window.
The move would come after City’s £65.2 million capture of Portuguese centre-half Ruben Dias.
City have now spent around £126million on players this transfer window having previously attained the services of Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake.
The Daily Mail believe that the Citizens are ‘desperate’ to add a new left back in the final days of the window.
The Telegraph reports that City are reportedly looking to bring in either David Alaba or Nicolas Tagliafico to strengthen their left-back options, but only if Oleksandr Zinchenko leaves the club first.
Pep Guardiola is keen for Zinchenko, 23, to move on so that he can launch a bid for his new defensive targets.
Per the report, David Alaba to City could happen as the versatile Austrian defender has yet to sign a new contract at Bayern Munich and is out of contract next summer.
The Mirror claims that the 28-year-old Austrian could cost a mammoth £60 million.
Tagliafico is a more attainable target than David Alaba, with Bayern Munich ready to keep him this summer and let him leave on a free transfer in 2021.
According to M.E.N Sport, Nicolas Tagliafico would be open to a move but that the club are yet to firm up their interest.

We should just try to give Ake a chance in this position, after all he is used to with Holland right ? Instead buying another bad player…

Unfortunately we’re in a position where our LB can’t run. Ake will be better but still a square peg ina round hole
