Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is confident that Bernardo Silva will sign a contract extension.
The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a summer exit from the Etihad Stadium, however the Portugal international eventually stayed put and has since excelled for Pep Guardiola’s side this campaign.
The Portuguese star, whose deal runs until 2025, has been City’s standout player so far this season and has scored eight goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.
Manchester City are reportedly prepared to almost double the midfielder’s wages in order to keep him at the Etihad, which would see him become one of the club’s highest earners along with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling,
According to Pol Ballus of the Times, Manchester City are confident that Bernardo Silva will sign a contract extension with the club after holding positive talks with his representatives.
The report adds that Sources close to the squad say that several players feel City is the best place in the world to play possession-based football and that is understood to have been an important factor in convincing the Portugal international to stay.
With Bernardo Silva emerging as one of the world’s best footballers, this will be amazing news for the Manchester City supporters.
