Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Pep Guardiola has reportedly lined up Burnley winger Dwight McNeil as Leroy Sane replacement
Guardiola confirmed last week that Sane will leave at the end of this season, or at the end of his contract in June 2021, after he rejected “two or three” offers of a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
City are adamant they will not let Sane leave for a cut-price fee but Bayern Munich, who wanted the Germany international last summer, are expected to return with another offer which is likely to see the Citizens enter the market for a replacement.
According to ESPN, City boss Pep Guardiola has earmarked McNeil as a potential arrival, having been impressed with the attacker’s performances for Burnley over the last couple of seasons.
Pep Guardiola is aware of McNeil’s potential. His “athleticism” and “versatility” are two of the factors that make him appealing to the Manchester City boss.
The 20-year-old, who was released by Manchester United during his youth career, made his Burnley debut on the final day of the 2017-18 season, and has featured heavily since then. The winger became an England Under-21 international earlier this season.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Can he play left back 🤔— ‘My Mate Stormy’ (@DavyMac1894) June 26, 2020
No no no no guys this would not be a bad option. Pep could easily make him better. He can dribble is quick. Not too sure about psssing ability but on burnley you need to cross so he can surely cross. I’m down with this tbh— Remy (@Remysenpaii) June 26, 2020
“He’d be good at city , just remember that he plays at Burnley where they basically just defend so that’s not his best yet”, claimed one fan.
while another asked, “What about adama traore?”
Another tweet said:”He’s a good player. Not sure if he’s at our level but who knows how good he really is until he plays in a team with world class players like City”
