Where Man City sit in Premier League table without VAR compared to Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool

Manchester City have been on the receiving end of positive and negative results from VAR this season.

Decisions made due to the technology tend to even themselves out over the course of a full campaign, even if fans don’t feel that way sometimes.

The dust has now settled on another extraordinary Premier League campaign that delivered drama at both ends of the table, all the way from an exciting beginning to a thrilling end.

Manchester City were crowned champions but Arsenal raced them the majority of the way and the typical ‘big six’ apple cart was rocked.

Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion surprised plenty by making their way into the Champions League and Europa League spots respectively, whereas Aston Villa pinched the sole Europa Conference League place under the noses of Tottenham Hotspur. Chelsea, on the other hand, finished well down in 12th.

As was the tightly contested nature of the entire season, there were so many cases where games would go right down to the wire – or worse, a refereeing decision. Near enough every weekend there would be a debate about a VAR call made and put simply, this wasn’t normally to praise the technology.
