Manchester City target Maximo Perrone has already signed his contract with the Premier League champions, according to a new reports.

The Citizens have persistently been linked with a move to sign the 20-year-old midfielder, who is understood to have an €8m (£7.1m) release clause in his contract with the Argentine club.

A recent report claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side were on the verge of finalising a deal to sign Perrone, fending off interest from the likes of Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Benfica.

The highly-rated midfielder is currently with the Argentina U20 side at the South American U20 Championship but is expected to join the reigning Premier League champions after the tournament, reports Fabrizio Romano.

According to a seperate report from César Luis Merlo, Perrone has signed his contract running until June 2028 with Manchester City.

The midfielder is expected to complete a move to Manchester City next month after featuring in the U-20 South American Youth Football Championship.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
