Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Southampton have contacted the club over right-back Issa Kabore.
The 21-year-old defender is a seasoned 27-cap Burkina Faso international and won the Africa Cup of Nations young player of the tournament earlier this year.
Kabore helped his side to the semi-finals of the competition, before they lost on penalties to Cameroon in the third-place match.
He is under contract at Manchester City until 2025 but has been linked with a move away from the Etihad on a permanent deal, with Nottingham Forest previously being favorites to sign the full-back.
According to Will Unwin of the Guardian, Southampton have been in contact with Manchester City over the signing of Issa Kabore in recent days.
Southampton are keen on Kabore, but talks at the moment are preliminary. They have already raided City for 20-year-old goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, and could yet bring in 18-year-old midfielder Romeo Lavia this window.

The report adds that the newly-promoted Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest have already been in talks with the Citizens to sign the defender but have not reached any agreement for Kabore.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
