‘We need either Haaland or Felix’ – City Fans react to Pep’s number one choice to replace Aguero

Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays report that Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez remains the number one choice to fill the number 9 shirt.

Pep Guardiola is understood to be keen to really strengthen the side having ended up so far behind Liverpool this season.

The club completed a £37m deal for Valencia winger Ferran Torres on Tuesday and Nathan Ake is expected to join in the coming days, but Guardiola isn’t done there.

Guardiola also wants to bring in a new forward ahead of the start of the new season and One name which keeps cropping up, when City’s plans are mentioned, is Lautaro Martinez, whose parallels with Aguero are uncanny.

The 22-year-old Inter Milan striker made his name in the tough Argentine Premier Division by scoring 27 goals in 60 appearances for Racing Club.

According to Sky Sport, Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is another on Pep Guardiola’s radar as City face the daunting task of finding long-term replacements for two Premier League legends in David Silva and Sergio Aguero

The report adds that Lautaro Martinez remains the number one choice to fill the number 9 shirt.

No way. First, Lautaro🇦🇷 is not a player for City and much less to replace Agüero 🇦🇷. There is Jesús 🇧🇷 100%. And second, only one player can be actually Agüero’s replacement and is already at City, as I said, Jesús 🇧🇷 🤙🏾 💙. About the number, I prefer if he (Jesús) use again #33

Could Lautaro Martinez be the ‘new Sergio Aguero’?

reported that Guardiola is interested in bringing in a £100m striker, who the club are said to have tracked for the last year and a half.

 It’s interesting to see that he’s being touted as a possible replacement for Sergio Aguero, but it also makes sense as the 22-year-old has much potential still to be unlocked. The Argentine marksman is enjoying a prolific campaign with Inter Milan under Antonio Conte this season.
