Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Real Madrid perceive Pep Guardiola’s side as the most serious threat to signing Jude Bellingham.
The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the best young midfielders in Europe over the past couple of seasons and is on the radars of several top clubs, including Liverpool. Manchester united and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid have been touted as the favourites to sign Bellingham as he sees the move as the ideal next step in his career.
According to Melissa Reddy of Sky Sports, Real Madrid have already begun working on the possibility of signing Bellingham next summer. But they see Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as their primary rivals in the race for the teenager’s signing.
Jude Bellingham, who likely to command fee in excess of £100m, is set to spark a major transfer war in the upcoming summer window.
As per the report, it is not the monetary element that is concerning in this regard: Man City are incredibly smart, well structured, and have a degree of stability across the operation.
Furthermore, with Ilkay Gundogan in the final year of his contract and Kevin De Bruyne in his thirties, the Citizens see Bellingham as someone who can refresh their midfield options.
Guardiola has been an admirer of the Englishman for a long time now, while the presence of Erling Haaland in the City ranks could also work in their favour due to the equation that the striker shares with Bellingham.
The report shared on Twitter by City Xtra attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
