Juventus have won the race for sought-after Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović after an agreement was reached with the player, agents and Fiorentina.
The 21-year-old striker was linked with a move to the Etihad as Harry Kane alternative as Manchester City were in the market for a prolific striker across the course of the summer transfer window.
Having failed to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, and with too much competition for Erling Braut Haaland signature, Vlahovic has been regarded as a realistic alternative ahead of 2022.
But Juventus have won the race for the former Partizan star after an agreement was reached with Fiorentina.
According to the ever reliable Fabrizio Romano, Juventus and Vlahovic’s camp finalized all aspect of the big Serbian striker’s deal that will be worth upward of €75 million and see him earn €7 million net a season with his contract through 2026.

Vlahovic, according to Romano, is expected in Turin this weekend for his medicals as long as he can test negative for COVID-19 after testing positive last week. If he is still positive, then Vlahovic will still sign his contract remotely, with the medical he took at the beginning of the season with Fiorentina still technically valid.
In light to the updates, many Man City fans as usual have reacted – here are some of their responses.
Was he a ‘target’ or was it just his agent name dropping City’s name !!

Then he clearly wasn’t a City “target”, was he?
— Mink (@minksfootie) January 27, 2022
Never our target

He was never a city target. We didn’t Make an offer what so ever. Stop with the city target shit.

I seriously doubt Vlahovic was a target for us, that’s not sour grapes, he’s an excellent player but don’t believe he would have been a system fit for Pep and therefore unlikely to have been a real target.
