Manchester City and Pep Guardiola have begun preparations for the 2024/25 season at the City Football Academy. First-team stars like Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Ederson, and Oscar Bobb have returned for training sessions ahead of a tour of the United States. The players who were involved in the European Championship and Copa America are being given extra rest time before the upcoming season.
The defending Premier League champions will start their title defense against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and end the campaign against Fulham at Craven Cottage. They will also face Manchester United in the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. Manchester City, who won the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup last season, are scheduled to play four matches in the United States, including friendlies against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea.
Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol will join the squad in the US, while imminent signing Savio will not participate in the tour. Over a dozen academy members and loanee Kalvin Phillips could be involved in the matches. As preparations continue, Guardiola’s squad is undergoing routines at the City Football Academy to prepare for the upcoming season and defend their league title.
