As the January transfer deadline approaches, there is still a possibility of Man City making moves with just a few hours left.

City has already made some smart signings this month by recruiting Alex Alcala from LA Galaxy and Claudio Echeverri for an undisclosed fee and £12.5m respectively.

The Financial Fair Play regulations have limited the spending capabilities of City and other Premier League clubs this window.

However, fans are hopeful that Pep Guardiola and his recruitment team may find room for another addition or two before the deadline tonight.

Let’s take a look at three possible transfers that Man City could still complete on January transfer deadline day.

1. Savio:

Savio is currently playing for La Liga table-toppers Girona, on loan from Ligue 2 side Troyes, both of which are part of the City Football Group. The Brazilian teenage attacker has been in outstanding form this season, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists in 26 games.

He has been likened to fellow compatriot Vinicius Junior and has been linked to Manchester City for a transfer fee of £10m. Savio has expressed his ambition to eventually join Pep Guardiola’s side, making this deal a realistic prospect.

The only hurdle would be his current loan at Girona, which would require an agreement with some form of compensation.

2. Gabriel Misehouy:

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder Gabriel Misehouy, who plays for Jong Ajax, has reportedly expressed his desire to leave the club due to a lack of first-team opportunities.

This has opened the door for a possible transfer to Man City or fellow CFG club Girona. City could potentially sign Misehouy permanently before the transfer deadline and then loan him out to Girona to gain top-level football experience.

3. Alan Varela:

Defensive midfielder Alan Varela has caught Manchester City’s eye with his impressive performances for Porto this season.

Despite Porto’s reluctance to sell, City has reportedly approached the club for Varela, who has a £60m release clause. This deal seems unlikely due to the hefty fee involved and the financial constraints of the club.

While the signings of Savio and Misehouy seem more feasible for City, Varela’s transfer may not materialize due to the high release clause. But there is still speculation that City could make a move before the deadline, given the club’s need for a substitute for Rodri.
