Manchester City have officially signed Savio from ESTAC Troyes for an initial fee of £21 million, potentially rising to £33.6 million with add-ons. The 20-year-old Brazilian winger was spotted in Manchester before the announcement, indicating his signing with the club. This addition gives Manchester City a natural winger, following the signing of Jeremy Doku from Rennes in the previous summer window.

The arrival of Savio raises concerns for players like Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku, who may face competition for playing time on the wings. Grealish, who lost his place in the team at times last season, will need to up his game to secure his spot in the starting lineup. Doku, on the other hand, could see his playing time impacted if Savio impresses Guardiola and secures a role on the left wing.

Additionally, midfielder Oscar Bobb, who often plays as a right-winger, may also face a challenge for minutes with Savio’s arrival. If Savio performs well on the right flank, Bobb could see his playing time decrease. The competition for spots on the wing within the Manchester City squad is expected to increase with the signing of Savio.
