Barcelona is interested in signing Bernardo Silva from Manchester City this summer, with a proposed deal worth around £50 million. The Spanish club reportedly intends to make a similar proposal to the one they used to sign Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense last summer. Barcelona’s financial situation is uncertain, but their president, Joan Laporta, is keen on bringing Silva to the club.

Silva, who has been with City for seven seasons, has been linked with a move away for some time. His contract with the club includes a release clause, which Barcelona is looking to utilize in their proposal. City may be open to staggered payments for Silva, given his contributions to the club and his desire to leave. However, if another club triggers the release clause and pays the full amount upfront, it could complicate matters.

Joao Felix has hinted that Barcelona would be Silva’s preferred destination, and there are also reports that Joao Cancelo, currently on loan at the club, is keen on making a permanent move to Barcelona. It remains to be seen how City will respond to Barcelona’s proposal and whether Silva will indeed make the move this summer.
