Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has indicated that his side are focused on themselves and not on Manchester City as the Premier League title race heats up.

Liverpool looked out of the title race a few weeks ago as a 12-point gap had opened up at the top of the table, with the Reds winning just one game out of six in all competitions back then.

The Reds has reduced the gap between themselves and the Cityzens to a mere three points with their 6-0 thrashing of Leeds United last night (February 23).

After their comprehensive victory against Leeds, Klopp was asked what he thought about the title race. He responded (as quoted by the club’s official website):

“It is three points until the weekend and then City will probably win and then it will be six points. If we win all our games pretty much there will be a chance for us.

“I think for people outside it is better to have three or six-point gap than to have a 20 or 30-point gap so it is more exciting but we have to win a lot of the games against all the difficult opponents and that will be a tricky task. We will give it a try.

“Honestly we don’t chase Manchester City – we try to win our games. Now we have the cup final, City plays who? I don’t know exactly but they will probably win. We don’t have to count these things, we just have to win our games.”

These Jurgen Klopp’s Comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
