Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Eric Garcia is set to snub Barcelona who began talks to re-sign their former academy star this summer.
The 19-year-old defender left La Masia in 2017 to join Pep Guardiola’s side and has to date played 16 times for the club, cementing his place in the club’s first team plans this season.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona have started negotiations with Manchester City over a deal for their former academy star Eric Garcia.
However, according to The Sun, Garcia has informed Pep Guardiola that he sees his future at the Etihad Stadium. As well as signing a deal which will extend his stay at City until 2025, the Spaniard will also more than treble his wages.
Garcia, who does not turn 20 until January, is on an impressive run of form since the return of football last month, commanding a strong back-line alongside Aymeric Laporte against both Arsenal and Liverpool
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, Many City supporters have flocked to expressed their thoughts and opinions on this latest update

Giving a 19 yr old 150k is what you want to do ??
Even laporte doesn’t earn that much 🤷♂️.
Foden earns £30k per week , so £40k for Garcia shows how high the club values him & that’s enough !!— Casey (@SCaseyy23) July 3, 2020
Him and Taylor have to start playing regularly alongside Laporte. If they can cover the CB position within themselves, we may not even need another CB. Get Stones and Otamendi out. Liabilities— Vayam Lahoti (@VayamLahoti) July 4, 2020
why not give him a 6 yr deal @ManCity— Shawn (@shawnthesharkk) July 3, 2020
Get him in long term. I think he’s be very good when he’s played. Laportes best partner at the moment— City Fan (@ManCity_FanView) July 4, 2020
