Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of the club’s interest in Aston Villa’s midfielder Jack Grealish.
The 25-year-old featured on City’s list of potential recruits during the last transfer window and he was admired at Etihad, but there were no discussions with Villa during the summer over a deal.
Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the midfielder, having consistently heaped praise on Grealish throughout the season.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein during the Ornstein & Chapman Podcast in august claimed the Citizens had ‘shown more interest’ than their city rivals United in the Aston Villa captain.
According to David Ornstein via Tifo Podcast yesterday, City ‘really admire’ Jack Grealish widely regarded as Aston Villa’s best player but wasn’t on their agenda last summer.
The 25-year-old Villa captain sign a new five-year contract in mid-September and has had a brilliant start to the top-flight season. The attacker has four goals and five assists in just seven league games – having managed eight goals and six assists in 36 games last year.
The Villa player is having a fine season in the Premier League, but could be on his way out at this summer with Manchester United reportedly also to be in hot pursuit of the midfielder.
It now remains to be seen if Man City, or any other elite side, are prepared to meet Villa’s asking price come the end of the season, with last summer’s £75m valuation sure to increase significantly.

This would be a class signing, he’s always said he’s wanted to play with De Bruyne 🤷🏽♂️

Lb and cdm should be the priority. Maybe we can stick to cancelo and save money to sign grealish but it doesn’t make sense since we already have Bernardo and foden.
