Manchester City are not expected to make any significant signings on transfer deadline day, with only two new players brought in during the summer – Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan. While Pep Guardiola is not likely to add to his squad, there could be a couple of departures, with Joel Ndala linked with PSV Eindhoven and Issa Kabore set to join Benfica. One big-name player linked with an exit is Matheus Nunes, who has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and Saudi Arabia, but is reportedly unlikely to leave the club.
Nunes, who has struggled to make an impact at City since his £53 million transfer from Wolves last summer, could benefit from a loan move to get more playing time. While there is Premier League interest in the midfielder, it seems he will stay at City for now. A loan move to a club where he can play regularly could help Nunes strengthen his position at City for the future, either to challenge for a first-team place or to be sold for a similar amount in the future.
