Reports suggest that Manchester City and England player Kyle Walker is being targeted for a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

The 33-year-old missed Manchester City’s recent match against Arsenal due to a hamstring injury but had signed a contract extension until 2026 just last September.

Although there was interest from Bayern Munich, Walker decided to stay with Manchester City and signed a new two-year contract extension with the club.

Having made 292 appearances for Manchester City since joining from Tottenham in 2017, Walker has won 16 trophies including five Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

This season, Walker has started 37 matches for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, a significant increase from the previous campaign.

There are rumors of Walker potentially leaving Manchester City for the Saudi Pro League, following in the footsteps of Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte.

According to Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, there is ‘serious interest’ from the Saudi Pro League to sign Walker for around £40 million.

Despite the interest, it remains to be seen if Walker will agree to the move from the Premier League to Saudi Arabia.

Other players like Jordan Henderson have faced criticism for moving to Saudi Arabia, with Henderson ultimately leaving for Ajax during the January transfer window.

Kevin De Bruyne, a key player for Manchester City, has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League with interest from several clubs.

De Bruyne’s contract with Manchester City expires in 2024/25, and there have been no discussions about an extension yet.
