Paris Saint Germain chief Luis Campos is ‘seriously studying’ the possibility of signing Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva in the last weeks of the transfer window, according to reports.

Bernardo was a key player for Pep Guardiola’s side last season as City won a fourth Premier League title in five seasons. His contributions earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Season, and he made the three-man shortlist for City’s Player of the Season award.

However, after asking to leave the club in 2020 and 2021, Bernardo has been linked with both Barcelona and PSG this summer.

Reports from France had even suggested that the French giants could up their efforts to sign the midfielder, either for cash or as part of a swap deal involving Neymar.

According to Le 10 Sport and Foot Mercato as relayed by Sport Witness, PSG are looking to sign Manchester City attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva this summer transfer window.

As per the report, Luis Campos knows Silva from his time at Monaco and is ‘seriously studying’ the possibility of making a move for the Portugal international. He has made the Manchester City star his priority for the last weeks of the transfer window.

Bernardo is ready to leave Manchester after five years confirm the outlet while Barcelona are also strongly interested in signing the 27-year-old before September.

However, no agreement has been reached between Barcelona and Manchester City as yet with a price of between €80m and €85m expected to convince the Premier League side to sell the Portuguese international.

With Barcelona yet to sell Frenkie de Jong, whose fee would finance their move for Silva, PSG can also count new de-facto sporting director Luis Campos as an advantage after he signed his countryman once before when with Monaco, and the pair each other well.

If they are able to do it, though, Campos will make a move ‘without hesitation’. Moreover, as per the report, despite the strong interest of Barça, Bernardo Silva is not against a return to Ligue 1, thus leaving several doors open.
