Manchester City are said to be pushing hard in order to convince Bukayo Saka to move to Manchester next summer as Arsenal try to lock the youngster down to a new contract.
Saka has long been considered the jewel in the crown when it comes to the Gunners’ crop of incredible young players. He has been in the first-team for some time now, making 140 appearances already.
The 21-year-old has impressed for the Gunners this term, scoring once and chipping in with four assists to aid Arsenal’s bright start that sees them sit top of the Premier League table.
City being admirers of Saka is nothing new. ESPN reported before the end of last season that Pep Guardiola’s men and Liverpool could make a move in the summer.
Obviously, nothing would come of those links. But 90min reports that the Cityzens are working hard behind the scenes to convince Saka that he would be better off at the Etihad Stadium.
His current deal is due to expire in 2024 and according to the report, Arsenal have been locked in talks with the winger and his representatives for most of this year in order to sort out a new deal.
A report from The Mail claims Saka is to be offered a huge £200,000 a week, in an attempt to convince him to stay at Arsenal. But his current deal ends in June 2024 and Manchester City are be ‘pushing hard’ to tempt him to move.
The likelihood of Saka leaving Arsenal for Man City seems slim as the 21-year-old is a Gunner himself and the current project at the Emirates is a very exciting one.
