Manchester City might lose one of their best players following reports that Bernardo Silva has made a final decision about his future ahead of the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Reports suggest that the Portuguese midfielder has decided to settle any controversies surrounding his career by the end of Euro 2024. He is aiming to avoid any last-minute drama by resolving everything in a timely manner.
Bernardo Silva joined Manchester City in the summer of 2017 and has enjoyed several successful seasons with the Premier League champions. He has achieved numerous trophies and played a crucial role in the last campaign, which is considered one of the most successful seasons in his professional career.
The City midfielder has reportedly identified Barcelona as his next destination despite the possibility that the Spanish club may struggle to meet his release clause due to financial constraints.
If he moves to Barcelona, Bernardo Silva will reunite with former teammates who have also recently joined the club. However, Paris Saint Germain has also shown interest in his services as a potential destination.
Ruben Dias Discusses Bernardo’s Transfer Speculations
Manchester City and Portugal teammate, Ruben Dias, commented on the ongoing speculations surrounding Bernardo Silva’s future during an interview with The National.
“At a certain moment last summer I thought he might go but I always tell him that every summer we have this series which is called ‘Bernardo is going nowhere’,” Ruben Dias said. “This is the third summer since I have been here and there is a new episode every year. I was really happy when he signed because if you want to win trophies Bernardo is exactly the kind of player you need around you.”
