Real Madrid have reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The 32-year-old has been a prominent figure in Pep Guardiola’s side this season, making 20 appearances in all competitions, contributing with two goals and two assists.

Despite being a regular feature in Man City’s side, Gundogan is yet to agree a new contract, with his current deal set to expire next summer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Gundogan was one of a number of would-be free agents that have been offered to Real Madrid, but the European champions turned down the opportunity to sign the Germany international.

Although Gundogan is not under consideration, Los Blancos are looking to strengthen their midfield, and they are currently linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

Gundogan is still attracting interest from elsewhere with a recent report claiming that Barcelona are considering a January move, while Galatasaray are also said to be among his admirers.

Elsewhere, In a recent report, Foot Mercato revealed that Manchester City have made a move to land Red Bull Leipzig ace Josko Gvardiol.

It has been mentioned that the Mancunian club as well as Manchester United and Chelsea have all moved in for the Croatia international.

Gvardiol, 20, has emerged as a top talent at the World Cup having also earned praise for his development at RB Leipzig.

His current contract at Leipzig will run out in the summer of 2027 which makes him an important asset for the German club. Thus, Man City will have to make a lucrative offer if they want to convince Leipzig to part ways with their prized asset.
