Ex-England international Owen Hargreaves have urged Manchester City to beat Barcelona to the signing of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
The 22-year-old Argentine remains Barcelona’s top transfer target as they eye a replacement for Luis Suarez.
Meanwhile, Sergio Agüero’s peak is clearly coming to its end and there are concerns at the Etihad that Gabriel Jesus is not of the level required to be the Argentine’s replacement.
Owen Hargreaves believes Manchester City should rival Barcelona for the 22-year-old who still has much potential still to be unlocked as Aguero’s replacement.
“I know Manchester City are looking for a replacement for Aguero, Martinez is your guy. He’s got everything. He’s skilful, a lethal finisher. He’s got everything – [he’s just] 22 years old” Hargreaves said.
“He’s the type of player whether at Barcelona or Manchester City they’re going to get a really special player.”
