Paul Merson has suggested that Douglas Luiz has been up there with Man City star Rodri this campaign in terms of Premier League midfield stars.
Luiz has enjoyed an excellent campaign so far with Aston Villa, who have been a real surprise package this term.
At the moment, Unai Emery has them challenging at the top of the table, with Villa just three points off the top.
Key to their lofty position has been Douglas Luiz, who has started every single league game so far bar one which he was suspended for.
The 25-year-old, who joined Villa from City back in 2019, has earned a lot of plaudits this campaign – and Paul Merson reckons he is one of the most underrated players in the whole Premier League at this point…
