Phil Foden is eager to start for England against Greece in the UEFA Nations League, after being unavailable for the previous camp. There are reports that coach Lee Carsley could start Foden in a deeper midfield position. Foden’s competition for the number 10 role includes in-form player Cole Palmer, who has been performing well for Chelsea. Scott Minto suggests starting Palmer over Foden as the number 10 against Greece.
Foden will have to compete with Palmer for the number 10 position on the pitch, as both players offer different strengths. Foden has previously expressed his preference for playing in the number 10 role, but Palmer’s emergence has added competition. If Foden wants to solidify his place as England’s top attacking midfielder, he will need to perform well on the pitch and showcase his skill and experience to coach Carsley.
