The Champions League knockout round picture has become clearer and Manchester City are now aware of who they could possibly face in the last-16.
Man City remain unbeaten after their five games and secured their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League last week, after drawing 0-0 with Borussia Dortmund.
With the draw not set to be made for another two weeks, the Blues have just one game remaining against Sevilla at the Etihad on November 2.
Considered one of the tournament favourites, Pep Guardiola’s side will fancy their chances against any of their potential last-16 opponents, though avoiding PSG would have been handy.
PSG appeared to be on course to finish top of Group H but Benfica’s 6-1 win away to Maccabi Haifa means that the French champions have been forced to settle for the runners-up spot.
While the neutrals would enjoy a City vs PSG clash, it does feel like it came a little too early in the tournament.
Potential Last-16 Opponents
Group A: N/A – Cannot draw Liverpool
Group B: Club Brugge
Group C: Inter Milan
Group D: Frankfurt
Group E: AC Milan
Group F: RB Leipzig
Group G: N/A – Cannot draw Borussia Dortmund
Group H: PSG
Liverpool and Tottenham are of course exempt from meeting Man City in the last 16 as they come from the same country, whilst Dortmund will not face last season’s semi-finals, having progressed from the same group themselves earlier this week.
The last-16 first legs are scheduled for February 14/15/21/22, while the second legs will take place on March 7/8/14/15.
