Nottingham Forest’s Murillo has praised Manchester City as one of the best teams in the world, alongside Real Madrid, and expressed his dream of playing for them. Despite initial interest from Chelsea in recruiting Murillo to replace Thiago Silva, little progress has been made in this regard. Murillo stated that he would be honored if Pep Guardiola were to express interest in working with him at Manchester City.
However, Manchester City currently have no intentions of recruiting in the central defensive roles this summer. With a strong roster of world-class defenders, including Jarrad Branthwaite, the Premier League champions are not looking to make significant investments in this area. Guardiola has a versatile group of players in the centre of defence, and it is unlikely that any of them will be leaving the club during this transfer window.
Despite Murillo’s admiration for Manchester City and hopes of playing for them in the future, it seems unlikely that the club will be pursuing him as a recruit at this time. The Brazilian defender’s dream of joining the Premier League champions may have to wait, as City’s focus remains on maintaining their strong defensive lineup for the upcoming season.
